What if a child doesn’t want to ENGAGE in counselling?

by | Aug 9, 2020

In my experience this is fairly uncommon – especially after we give parents advice about how to approach kids.

However, sometimes older teenagers can be resistant to the idea of getting some help, and it is important to get them on board with the process at the start.

I recommend focusing on the “performance coaching” angle which is about helping them to improve skills and performance, rather than “treatment” of any issues or problems.
